Set analysis on key field

Hi All,

I have large fact table which contains Date field which actually not a primary key. I have linked this Fact table on Date field with calendar. In my charts I have used set analysis like Date ={">=$(vMin)<=$(Max)"}  I have heard that set analysis on linked field is not advisable. Will it cause performance issue?

Hi,

Set analysis won't make any performance issue, you can use it all the places and it is recommended.

Calendar table can be linked with Date field, that won't make any issues.

Where have you heard this? You might be confusing this with something else, because I have also not heard of any set analysis issues with key field (if that is what you mean when you say linked field)

I don't think it will be a issue. I think you are mixing other stuff with set analysis. I also haven't heard anywhere. If you can share the link where you read this, it will be helpful.
