Hi,

need to sum (AMOUNT) if string 'XXXXX' can be found in field: DESCRIPTION.

Any suggestions?

Sum({<Description = {"*XXXX*"}>}Amount)

Try liek this

=Sum({<DESCRIPTION={''*XXXXX*"}>} AMOUNT)

Edit: Missed Quote in set analysis expression
