How would I go about setting a variable when a chart is activated? I'm needing to use a specific set of dates when a specific chart is activated, and showing/hiding dates based upon a variable 'vUseBookDate'.
Thanks!
I don't think you can have a trigger of any sort when activating Containers or tabs in it...
But a lot of developers use buttons and or text boxes to emulate a container. Each button or text box will be formatted so it looks like a tab and you assign an action to each of them to control the display of the sheet objects that belongs to each "tab" ... in the list of actions you can also include setting the variables of your choice and hide/show your filters.
Hi Tricia,
What do you mean when you say "a chart is activated" ?
I have several objects (charts and containers) in a container, and when a specific chart is selected (activated), I need to set a variable which is used to hide/display date filters.
I didn't receive an answer on my question I submitted last Friday, so this is plan 'B'

There used to be triggers on sheet level for "Activate object", but later (QV 10?) they were removed
I do agree with Petter Skjolden , If you have several Charts in Container and want to display/hide specific date filters then use buttons or text boxes .
That's too bad.. I could certainly use that feature. Not sure what was meant by the other responders where they mentioned 'using text box or buttons instead of using a chart in a container'. In the attached application, how would I use a text box or button to set a variable when selecting the 'Turn Time' chart ?
I'd rather not download 50MB+ file, but the proposed solution is to use a set of buttons or text boxes with actions. You can assign multiple actions on each text box, in your case set a condition to show a specific chart and hide all other charts, and also set a variable you need.
I do agree with Petter...
