Hello, I want to display the values for each stack in a stacked bar chart, but also i need to display the value of the sum for each stack
I tried this by specifing the value for each expression and the show the total value for each column, but is doesn´t work
Is this possible??
Do you have a sample data file?
You can always create two charts one with graphics, and secongd with numbers and overlay each other, while setting correct trasparency. Just a thought.
If I understood the question, I know it's possible because I've done it. Let me find the application and see what I did...
...OK, in my case, it looks like I wrote four separate expressions and put them in a combo chart. The first three expressions are displayed as stacked bars with numbers and text on data point. The last expression is the sum of the first three, and is displayed as a symbol (dots) with numbers and text on data point. Then on the presentation tab, I checkmarked "plot numbers inside segments". It looks like I set my symbol size to 1 pt, which is perhaps why I can't actually see the symbol. Ah! It looks like I set the fourth expression to "Invisible" on the expressions tab. Maybe THAT'S why I can't see the symbol. But the number still shows.
All right!!
I made it just as you said and It works perfectly
thanks all of you
It turns out that my approach from earlier in the thread doesn't work in 9.0 SR4. If I checkmark "Plot Values Inside Segments", I can see ONLY the segment values, not the total. If I remove the checkmark, then I can see ONLY the total, and not the segment values.
One solution is to do what Paul attached and overlay two charts. I'd prefer to avoid that. Does anyone know how to get both numbers inside segments AND a total on top of the bar in 9.0 SR4?
Attached is an example application. In 8.5, you can see numbers inside the segments and numbers on top of the bars. In 9.0 SR4, you can see one or the other but not both depending on how you set the "Plot Values Inside Segments". Below is how it looks in 8.5, which is how I want it to look.
John,
Did you figure out how to acheive this. I have downloaded your application and played with it for no luck using version 9.0 SR4.
Appreciate your help.
Hi Kiran,
see my comment in the attached example (it´s a combo chart).
Good luck!
Rainer
Hello Rainer.
Thanks for the reply- It still does not show me like the first screenshot by John showing both values
Am i not reading correctly.
My original example file (and my real applications) are working fine again in SR5. So I would call this an SR4 bug, and I suggest upgrading to SR5 to fix it.
Thanks John,
I will upgrade my client and work with your file setup. I ahve faced several display issues where I have developed charts in my version but the IE version where my IT team publishes to shows a different variant of the numbers.
eg. A stacked chart showing 3 numbers 30,60,and 90 - my devloper version shows the total at the top as 180, but my IE version will only show the last number i.e 90 at the top of the chart.
My point here is how can I know if my IE version is not working well with my Qlikview developer- is my IT team probably not using the best publishing versions? I am lost here and belive a lot of Qlikview developers would be facing this display issues when publishing reports.
Even here - I can upgrade my developer version but my IE display shows minor irritating differences in display.
Would love to hear your thoughts on how to handle situations like this in the future- do I test test and keep testing sitting with my IT team in a room.
Thanks,
Kiran.
