Sort order using an existing expression in a straight table

Hi,

I am trying to sort a straight table using my first expression - I don't want to change the script.

It works fine initially but when the document gets reloaded the sort order is reset to the first dimension and I have to do it all over again.

For some reason Qlikview does not keep the sort order by an existing expression - we have experienced this issue lately.

Does anyone know why this is hapenning and how it can be resolved?

Thanks,

Nevie

I often use expression to sort tables and this has never happened to me, attach your document if it is possible

What version of QlikView are you using? Does it happen in QV Desktop or in AJAX Client or in both?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that my column is hidden.

Hi,

Try like this

Chart Properties-> Sort -> Select First Dimension in Dimensions-> Uncheck Y value -> Select Expression

and give your expression there.

Hope this helps you.

Regards,

Jagan.

Hi Jagan,

Thanks for your suggestion but straight tables do not have Y value as a sort option.

I am using QlikView 11.
Not sure about Qv desktop and AJAX client?

Going to bump this as I'm now experiencing the same issues - we have a table that has 3 dimensions that are both conditionally shown and hidden in the final output. I'm trying to sort the table on my first expression (which is the same for all 3 views of the table), but whenever I reopen the document the sort order reverts back to using the first dimension instead.

I can go down the route of replacing this one table with three, but does anyone know any reason it's doing this? If it's related to the hidden dimensions as above then I'm a bit stuck.
