I think you can't suppress these years in your setting with two dimension Quarter and Year, if some Years show data in other Quarters.

You can create a combined single dimension of Quarter and Year, then suppressing these values should work.

You can't suppress the Year on selected Quarter because there are values for these Year in other Quarter.

I think it would look strange if you suppressed the Year on selected Quarter(s) (i.e. 2 bars in one Quarter, 3 bars in another Quarter, etc...).

My first thought was that it could potentially cause misinterpretation if someone took a quick glance and assumed that the right-most bar is 2014, but in fact the right-most bar could be 2013 if you were able to suppress the Year on those Quarter(s).

Perhaps have a think about whether there's a better way to represent the information?

Thanks guys. What am basically trying to do is compare most recent last 4 quarters to same last 4 quarters year before. So if my recent last four quarters is 2014Q2, 2014Q1, 2013Q4, 2013Q3 , it should compare to

2013Q2, 2013Q1, 2012Q4, 2012Q3.

If it is a full year and full quarters then it should be  2014Q1, 2014Q2, 2014Q3, 2014Q4 compared to

2013Q1, 2013Q2, 2013Q3, 2013Q4.
