Symbol,Thousand Symbol,Million Symbol and Billion Symbol

Please suggest where should we use different symbol options which are available  under "Number" tab in Line chart as shown below?

Okay...so what I understand from above is that we can show the symbol on y axis but what is the role of thousand , million and billion

In my 2nd example I have use a 1000 symbol. The values are shorter..

Sometimes you don't want to show the long values with 6 or 7 more digits and with those Thousend / Million etc you can shorten them with
