Table Box: How to restore sort order

So I have a tablebox which is sorted by column A using a formula.

By double clicking the column header of column B the user can simply change the sorting to column B. How can he restore the table to it's default sorting again (given he doesn't necessarily know, the table was previously sorted by column A)?

Thank you so much

Hi Benjamin

Your User may simply perform a right clik on the desired column and choose sort. Or else he/she will double click the coloumn that shall be sorted.

In case it is applicable they may also use the "clear" or "back" button.

Don't know if this what you were looking for...

Anthony

you can save the default sort to a bookmark. (select Include Layout state while creating the bookmark)

Then create a button that will invoke this bookmark whenever customer wants to go to the default sorting in the table.

Hello Anthony,

thanks for your Answer!

As I said, the user doesn't necessarily know which column is the default order. So clicking a column is not helping. Also the default clear and/or back buttons do not change sorting, as well as I do not want any filters changed, only sorting.

Yeah this also was my first try. However this seems to be buggy as using the bookmark always sorts by first column for me, regardless of which column I chose while creating the bookmark (version 11.00.11282).

I have the same problem. A bookmark is not preserving the sort order for a table when I save it as a bookmark. Any fix for this?

Hi Mary

I looked into it once more and I have the same problem. The bookmark doesn't save the layout I'm afraid. What we do now is to install other (new) tables based on the user's preference.

If you are working with some open-minded user's you may also give them a textbox with a little instruction on how to sort the columns.

brgds,

Anthony
