Total Count of Rows expression with Alternate State

I'm trying to replicate the formula or expression of Total mode "Total Count of rows"

I would like to use it in other locations vs just the once spot where it shows. Is this possible?

I've tried : ='Projects - A  '&Count( TOTAL {Alternate_A  } Project)  with no luck.

Its suppose to be 1342 but I 462 For list 'A' and 1568 for B.

I believe without Alternate States this would work fine what else should I add?
