Upgrading from Windows Server 2008 to 20012

Hi,

We are planning to upgrade from Windows Server 2008 to 2012.

Should we expect any problems ?

Any specific pitfalls ? preparations ?

Any limitations ?

Thanks

Hi Gur,

We've upgraded from Windows Server 2008 (using QV 10) to 2012, using 11.2 SR4 on the the test environment.

and it was a generally smooth process.

The only issue is that performance is not as good as expected and some users cannot open a document via 'Open in Server', or it is very slow, compared to using Windows Server 2008, v10.

I'd love to get some feedback regarding any issues, or ways in which best performance can be achieved.

Has anyone had some good experience running QV 11.2 on Windows Server 2012?

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Hi,

Also just to add one thing, QlikView 11 has a special Installer for Windows Server 2012. (if you plan to install QV Desktop in Windows 8 environment, there is a special installer too). Other than that you should not have any problem migrating from Windows 2008 to 2012,

regards

Thanks Jaime and Xena,

Indeed we have gone forward and upgraded to server 2012 R2.

We had to use the new installers and so far we are quite satisfied.
