Hi All
I have a QVW with essentially one very large fact table (450M records), most of the columns are monetary values, thought there are others with different categorizations. A large amount of records have the same monetary amounts and categorizations in individual columns (not across columns). Is it worth pulling things out into dimension tables, I mean to say if a column has values 15.22, 54.55, 54,66, 44.22, and say 100 more other monetary values - is it worth replacing this column with autonumber and putting these values into a dimension table?
Any tips for reducing the size of / optimizing this app?
Thanks
Dom
Are the 17 GB with compression or without? Also a screenshot from the tableviewer will be helpful.
For optimizing a qvw take a look here: The Importance Of Being Distinct and here: Search Recipes | Qlikview Cookbook.
