When it will go for join and Keep?

I know about basic difference between join and keep.

But in some interviews ask witch scenario go for join and witch scenario go for keep.

For last point, Majorly Join can club 2 tables into one. But, where keep can allow same in First table and Second table we are doing some calculations for business fact / Transaction logic.
