Why does my selection get removed in this example?

Hi

My question relates to Qlikview

Please see attached test QVW.

Perform these actions to reproduce my question.

Make selection on namekey: James

Make selection on q1

Now you decide you don't want to look at q1, but you do wish to look at the month Jul

Make a selection on month: Jul

This REMOVES the selection on namekey.

Is there any way we can change this behaviour?

I believe it is not a combination 'james' + 'q1' I have no records for the month 'jul'.

That´s the regular behaviour of Qlik

That´s because there´s no association between Q1 and Jul, when you click in Jul, Qlik removes the selections into q1

To avoid the namekey selection being removed by selecting excluded values you could lock this field:

This also means you cannot select excluded month values on the other hand.
