class function is used for classification of expression

class(value,10)  syntax returns like   this    value<=x<10   here  10 is the interval

in your scenario     first value is 10

then  10<=x<10

next 11       gives like    1<=x<10  , 11<=x<20  your value between  11  its in between of 11<=x<20

like this all ....

i hope u understood

hello,

       I have another doubt.not class().

        i.e  we have 2 txt files .one file date in MM/DD/YYYY format.

              another txt file date in YYYY/MM/DD format.

               combining these 2 txt files. we will get the date format as DD/MM/YYYY.by using Date# function.

     How to get it in DD/MM/YYYY format?? by using "Date#".

  please send me answer..............

Hi,

Class function will divide the values as you gave here 10

here it will divide like

1>=x<10

11>=x<20

21>=x<30

31>=x<40

41>=x<50

in 1 field only.this is just like a bucket field.

and your second scenario

Date(date#(datefield,'DD/MM/YYYY'),'DD/MM/YYYY') as New_Date
