Hi,
we recently moved from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I have Qlikview personal edition 12 in local pc and Qlikview 11 in server. Earlier in Windows 7 I had Qlikview personal edition 11. now I can not able to open any of personal edition qvws in Qlikview 12 in my pc. it is showing message that I attached as png.
Please can anyone help me it is really very critical urgent to me.
Use the Open in Server option to open any QVW and your copy of QlikView will lease a licence and remove the Personal Edition restrictions.
Cool, make sure you have assigned one to your user in QMC, or have dynamic licence lease on, then use the open in server method in the attached to lease the licence
Andy
When you use Open in Server, it will licence your desktop QlikView for 28 days, and the lease will renew each time you access the server.
This will give you the development options within QlikView and remove the Personal Edition restrictions and allow you to share other users applications.
Thanks. while installing I can install complete right? instead of custom?
wondering is that is causing issue?
if I open personal edition qvw by using open in Server option can I open forum qvws and qvw created by another user in server? the same way I did in my earlier Windows 7
Also if I use Open in Server do I need to lease licence for every 28 days? in personal edition
Yes, it just sounds like you licence lease has exceeded the 28 day period.

Thanks. to open in server how can I do that because the file is not allowing me to do anything. sorry I am confusing
Hi Amelia,
sorry don't know what you mean 'file is not allowing me to do anything'?
I presume you mean that the actions you can performed are limited, if so that how open in server works, it's a bit like opening a qvw in the access point. Once you have leased the licence. close the Open in Server document, THEN use File > Open to access the qvw you wan to edit, and you should be ok.

Open In Server is on the File menu.
Select your server and open any QVW.
Hi ,
When your are on Domain which your qlikview server is there,
Open your Qv Desktop,
Open in server -> (Ctrl+Shift+O)->
qvp://YourUserName@YourServerName/Qlikview Access Point/ApplicationName.qvw
Then you will be able to open a application hosted on the server .Then your license will be leased from server and valid for 30 days.
Such that you can open all apps created by others too.
Hope this helps,
Hirish
tried this. not opening. showing can not connect to server.
