connect to server

Trying to 'Connect to Server' from Qlikview Desktop.

Giving me the following error. What is causing thos error?

Hi,

There could be couple of reasons:

1. Check your access to the server

2. User Name

3. Password

4. Your system is not on the network.

5. Check VPN if required.

The connection should be qvp//<hostname> right?

Probably my ID does not have access permissions

Yes, that's probably it.

A simple test: can you open the AccessPoint on the same server in your browser? Does the web server ask you for credentials, or did it ever ask you for account & password (browser may be caching your credentials)?

What will be the url to access Accesspoint ?.Is it http://<hostname>/qlikview ?

Yes the url to access the access point is right.

But the error you got was while doing open in server right?

Yes that is correct .But I was testing the Access Point as suggested by Peter. But it gives me a 404 Error.
