conversation of Month field

Hi experts,

I am having one field in my script called MONTH . In this field having the date like "01,02,03,04....12".

now my question is how to change the numbers format to string format..

ex: i want data like "jan,feb,mar....Dec'. instead of the 01,02,03,04....
