email settings - work in one app, don't in another?

Hi,

the email settings are set up in the user_properties, yes?

I have an email_alert in one app that checks the presence of two files for the week. I know that one works fine because I regularly get the email myself because the files are not there.

<=> The strange thing is, I have another email_alert in another app to inform me of a certain type of error early on.

         That alert is set up in exactly the same way, with a condition to trigger it (it queries whether a variable is empty or not and fires
          only if it is not empty) and my email address, just the same - but it doesn't work.

I get an error_message from the server "No connection to Server ..."

Do you have an idea why that could be? The settings are the same.

Do you get this message when using QV Desktop or Server ?

If Server where did you find this error message and can you replicate same error with Desktop ?

Hi Bill,

I run  this app on my own laptop for now. Lateron, it should be run on the server, but for testing I run it myself. I get the error_message when I open the app - so when the script reloads and stops at this error, I have to close and re-open the app to fire the alert, but I think that is just a setting.

I just find it very strange that the message says there's no connection to the server when the email_settings are the same as in my other app from which I got an email just yesterday ...
