Hi,
Created a straight table with dummy columns as below :
Category Name Value Qty
Kids wear $3500 3
Shirts $2000 5
Shoes $4500 2
On mouse hover, i see Category Name field values, which is redundant when i already see values in the table. I believe this is qlikview inbuilt functionality. Is there any way i can get rid of the mouse hover or any other alternative i can use.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Malaika
Go to the expression tab and make sure that the "Text as Popup" is unchecked.
However, this option is for expression and you are getting values on mouse hover on dimensions.
Make sure that the width of the dimensions are fit to data, if you expand the dimension cell width such that the values are spaced properly, you wont get this pop-up.
Output is same as the screenshot you have provided above where I see kids wear as mouse over.
in Expression,
in Display Options
Put Representation as 'Image' instead of 'Text'.
For Dimensions
in Chart Properties , in Dimensions selection
go to Advance (above comment), select Image as Representation
Thank you so much. This works as expected. Just one question, this would not change functionality of the table correct?? I do not want any change except for the mouse over to go. Let me know if there is something that I need to know before I make these changes.
Thanks again..
Also I was trying to remove mouse over from table header and caption. If you have any idea on this.
Thanks
This I have no idea, as its default of Qlik to mouse hover. What I can suggest is to place transparent text boxes on top of header and caption, but you have to test the table for that .
Regarding the earlier suggestion I gave on representation as 'Image', functionality will work fine(Selections). Only problem will be export to excel, if your Users are looking for it.
Yes you are right, users are looking for export to excel and it will be exported as an image.
So its either hover over or export to excel. From my experience , your hover over shouldn't be such an issue for the Users, so you can let Qlikview default to stay the way it is.
It's very strange as others (myself included) don't get popups (unless you have CRLF in your dimensions). Can you upload a sample? Does this happen in all your apps and tables?
