need help with formulas- can you help edit this formula

I am getting error in expressions when I try to do the following commands:

1) sort dates in ascending and descending order

=fabs(Interval([Date Published.autoCalendar.Date] - ('10/1/2017'),'d'))

2) trying to get colums to show black if yes and blank/white if no  using the if statement

If([Clients.G2000]='Yes',Chr(9899), Chr(9898))

can you help edit or guide with the proper syntax that works in qliksense.....thank you!

Perhaps this

1) =fabs(Interval([Date Published.autoCalendar.Date] - ('10/1/2017'),'d')) // Remove Parenthesis

2) Should work, Where are you doing this?
