hi ,
explain qv architecture
Hi anil,
well, in a company you usually have just a handful of developers to develop the Qlikview_apps and many people to view them. The apps are usually stored on a server where the developers can manage the architecture via the management_console and the employees can view one or several apps, depending on their licenses and the drive_access their computers have.
I'm sure there is a document on that. I can tell you what is our scenario:
- We have a three-tier architecture: One basic data-loading app is running a few times a day, just getting data from the database and storing it in qvd files.,
- Several "Qlikmart" apps load these qvd files and build a data_model that can be loaded via BINARY.
=> The actual apps (that display KPIs to be viewed by the employees) use this data_model, in full or in parts.
- In addition, only the developers have the QlikView software installed, the employees view their apps via the IE. That has the advantage that they cannot edit, save and all that, there are drawbacks, too.
