search box enter multiple values

Hi,

Is there any guide on what wild cards can be used inside a searchbox of a filter or any object. I am specifically interested to know

1) How to enter a new search into searchbox without the previous search values being cleared

2) How to enter multiple string criteria in the search box (red, green, blue) for example three different search strings..can I enter all these search strings at once in the search box?

3) If I have multiple records for a search criteria, can I select multiple values at once from the search box

4) and last but not the least, Is there any guide that tells me what wild cards or patterns can be used in the search box

Regards

Shah

Look in the Desktop Help for

  • Search
  • Fuzzy Search
  • Advanced Search

The first one is the most extensive guide. The Reference manual may provide additional information on how to do complex searches.

1) Instead of pressing Enter, press Ctrl+Enter

2) Yes, like this: (searchstring1|searchstring2|searchstring3)

3) Yes, click and drag or Ctrl+click (or just press enter to select all of them)

4) That's reasonably well explained in the help. Although if somebody can explain what the heck is "^" supposed to do in search strings, I'd be grateful as well
