strange behavior of qlikview- data not showing

Dear Community,

I have a Qlikview file with one of the sheets having 4 containers in which 2 straight tables exist in each container working fine without any issue in my machine.

But when it was opened in another machine, it is showing nulls values in straight tables in all 4 containers. I could not able to figure it out what the actual problem is?

I tried installing same version of qlikview in both the machines but has no luck.

Please suggest me what could be the actual problem ?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Manideep

Things to check:

1) Do both machines have valid QlikView Developer licenses?

2) Are any of the formulas in your tables based on paths or resources that might not be available on both computers?

3) Do you have SECTION ACCESS / SECTION APPLICATION active with data reduction?

if you are trying with personal edition, then you might face this issue?

"QlikView Personal Edition can only open files created using that particular copy of QlikView. This means, with QlikView Personal Edition you cannot use your QlikView documents on different computers, you cannot share your QlikView documents with another unregistered user, or open a QlikView document from another user (exempted are documents specially prepared for personal use by QlikTech). However, documents created in QlikView Personal Edition can be used with a licensed copy of QlikView desktop and they can also be published on a QlikView Server.

You cannot import an entire document layout (sheets/objects/security settings, etc. in XML format, without the data) into QlikView Personal Edition.

Should you change computers, you will not be able to open your previously created documents with QlikView Personal Edition. In this case, you can choose to recover your files. Recovering files means a new user key is generated, assigned to the old document and used for all subsequent files, not only for that particular file. After recovering a file, you can no longer use it on the computer that you created it in."

If you can attach a scrambled version of your file, we can try and check whether it works locally for us and whether anything jumps out as a potential issue. Otherwise, I'm out of ideas - there's only so much that can be done with guesswork.

Have you checked that the datamodel looked equally and that the number of records are identically? If yes, are any macros or actions implemented? Any selections or alternate states? How does the expressions from the tables look like? What happens if you remove a table from the container-object, does the table change in any way?

yes, the data model looked equally and number of records are identical. No macros implemented. Only a button action with active sheet functionality has been implemented. I tried removing the objects from container but no luck.

I just took a copy of the original file and opened in the other machine.
