Hi,
hopefully, someone has a quick fix for me: I'm loading data from an excel, and have always loaded the CustomerID as text(CustomerID), to make sure it has the same format across all tables.
Now they have updated the data in the excel files, the CustomerID is still a number, but now QlikView suddenly returns NULL when I use the text(CustomerID)-statement.
Has anyone an idea why this is suddenly happening and how to fix it?
Best, Lenka
Is it returning NULL for all values or only a sample?
It's returning NULL for all ClientIDs that are numbers, it's only returning values for those ClientIDs that are texts.
Can you post a few examples of the customerIDs if it is not confidential?
I got it to work by loading the original excel-value as it comes and then adding an extra load-statement on top where I assign the text()-format. Works as a work-around, but I'd still like to know why it suddenly won't work on the original excel-data. Especially since it used to work ok - gives me a bit of a stomach ache to think that at any time at any of my clients' data, QlikView could start returning NULL without anyone noticing...
Will upload a file later (have to change the data some), now I have to get back to the teamviewer-session with the client - she had just uploaded the new data and suddenly all her potential clients were gone... I love these moments
