unable to open qvw which were created by me in my own system

hi sir

i am unable to open the QVW documents which were created by me

it is giving the below message

but the documents which were opened today morning,

but now these documents are not opening now 

why this qv behaving such a way

here qvw stores with system 'mac' address it means which system ur going to save that system mac adress is going save with qvw. so ur system qlikview opens only files which containing same mac adress

and there is possibilities of opening 4 to 5 qvws which not created by u

when u open that qvw ur personal additional change the ur system mac adress to that qvws mac adress.

because of thsi ur files also get corrupted

Dear Venkat,

You are using QlikView Personal Edition, therefore your file is not going to be open.

QlikView Personal Edition provides limited number of counts to open the file, after that the file will not be open.

You need licensed QlikView, after that you will be able to open this file.

"created by me" means three things:

• by you using the same Windows AD account as before
• on the same platform
• using the same network connection.

If you try to open a document created by you but one or more of these three conditions have changed, then you are offered a document recovery. If you recover and save your document, it will now correspond to PE in the new situation. After 4 or 5 recoveries, you will not be able to open documents anymore, just create new ones.

Or you can buy or lease a license. Then all your troubles are gone.

i created in my own windows  using the below what you represented

Yet it is not opening sir

*** i copied the qvws to my pen drive,

but the physical copy is in my system only, yet its opening (i a not trying to open it pendrive/ pendrive is for backup)

the original files are not opening now any help ???

You need to get QlikView desktop license (available from Qlik) or lease a license (Named CAL) from any QV server by Open in Server option and it will give you 30 days lease. During the 30 days, keep opening documents and the lease will never expire. Should it expire, just open in server again.

Apparently, PE restrictions do not apply to documents on pen drives. Weird.

For pricing information, contact a local Qlik partner / representative. AFAIK there are no student licenses.

Hello Venakt,

As ur using Trail version you have only 5 time acess of other QVW files(Which you downloaded from internet or other created one) if you exceed that 5 Times, you will not able to acess your own QVW.
