unable to open sheet in accesspoint after creating sheet object

Hi,

I am new to Qlikview, when one of my user was using qvw in access point and was adding a Sheet Object for analysis purposes. He then went to change the properties and sheet crashed. Now every time when  loading that sheet from access point it crashes.

Could you please advise how to identify the server object and how can it be removed.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

PS

Hi Anil,

User was creating an object on access point and after that when tried opening properties, sheet crashed.

I was just wondering how to remove the problematic object on Qlikview management console so that user can again access the sheet in qvw. Just that sheet freezes, rest all sheet works in qvw.

I am not sure how to identify the object and remove it from qlikview server.

regards,

Hi Srini,

Do like this.

1. Take a back up on original application on server

2. Remove that document from that particular user access (if Section Access is there remove the user or otherwise remove the whole application from portal folder)

3. Ask that user to clear his browser cache (cntr+shift+delete and clear everything)

4. Put that Application back to the portal folder and reload it. (if section access enabled then add that particular user to the section access back)

Go to QMC user tab and search the user in the USERS tab once the user pops up go to the Server objects tab and delete the objects created by the user

I think the server objects are managed in <QVWName>.SHARED file available under Published or User Document folder.

You can use QlikView power tools to manage the .SHARD file and its content.

If you there is not much impact then you can rename the .SHARED file to backup.SHARED and then QlikView will create a new one. With this option you will loose all server objects including bookmarks created and shared by users in the past.

‌hi sushant ,

thanks for the reply ,by removing the objects for that user from user management tab(server objects), this will not affect shared object and bookmarks? Is that correct?

thanks

You will have all the objects including the shared objects  created by the user listed in that tab . If you want to keep the shared object or bookmark just don't delete that
