understanding when to use < or } in formula, qlikview

Hi,

I need to pick up all transactions within the current Financial Year that are not blank.  i have the following formula but it is not working (no error just zero shows up).  A little red line shows up under the "}" after FiscalYear.

if(ContactOptions <> '',Count({<%DateEmpFormAdded = FiscalYear>}) EngagementType)

Any assistance appreciated.

Also can anyone direct me to a youtube or page where it explains the use of the following characters in a formula?

}

]

,

etc....

Sorry I didn’t understand what you meant by check your “data model”.

Peter, I am using a “Chart – Pivot table” to display the data.

I have taken a step back to analyse the issue. The table I have created in Qlikview comes from many data sources.

I concatenated them all into one as most had the same fields (i.e. if slightly different I used as “” to make the same name).

I have used the create data in all these sources to link to the calendar.

Now, when I go back to only using one table at a time the correct figures are displayed?
