Check first the Release Notes then-

1. Backup your apps
2. Backup your c:\programdata\qliktech folder
3. Install the new version
4. Test

I don't think so there is any such a document (Or i havn't found).

I've done the up-gradation,it was quite straight forward and haven't face any issue.
