the user already has qlikview installed in his machine.. Already he has access to several reports.now he is requesting access to another new qvw document..

so when the user open qlikview and go to file> open I server.. he can see several reports which he is already have access to and ow I need to give him access to new qvw document..

I think you wanted to give on access point for this only, you need to go in QMC and User document  you will find document number and there you can release document.

u can try this way,

1.assign the cals to corresponding users only from qemc

2. add only those users you assigned cals (on 1'st step) from wherever u places ur  qv dcoument by right click--properties--security--edit--add--list ur user--do the same for whoever access required for this application.

What Avinash R is trying to explain is this:

If you don't have a Publisher, and you don't run an Enterprise Edition server, you will have to set NTFS file rights on the QVW document to grant any new user access to that document.

Use Windows explorer on the document in the Root folder (see QMC) and follow Avinash's instructions.

If you do have a Publisher, you can set these access rights in the Distribution tab. You'll have to reload at least once.

If you do operate an Enterprise Edition server, you can assign specific access rights without a reload in User Documents->Authorizations.

Peter,

Avinash, way is good enough.. but I do not have access to the file itself write access only read so its not possible.

As below screenshot by qlikview7799 I cannot find any document CALS tab.iam not sure the reason behind?

as u said ...if  you do have a Publisher, you can set these access rights in the Distribution tab. You'll have to reload at least once. how do I do this?

Maybe you license doesn't contain any allowances for Document CALs. You forgot to mention what type of CALs you have. If your license does contain Document CALs, maybe you ran out of free CALs. In that case, all Doculent CAL tabs for new documents will disappear.

If you do have a Publisher, define or open a reload Task. On the distribution tab, select Manual and add all users that should have access to the document. Reload.
