QlikView on android phones?

Hi All,

Hope everyone is doing good. I have a quick question. Is it possible to have QlikView on Android phones? We can use/view QV documents on iPhone but can we do the same on android devices? Do we have the Android clients for QV? The likn below (from QlikTech) shows that QlikView For Android mobiles is launched and is available in the market. But I am not able to find it anywhere? Did someone has worked on it or configured QV on android device?

Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Sharma

Hi, Sharma.

Android client was removed from the market after the company that developed that was bought from someone else.

It was not developed by QlikTech.

You can point your browser as you would do in desktop since you will use the ajax client.

Something like http://youserver/qlikview and if you have external ip (for internet access) it will be similar:

htttp://yourdomain/qlikview

Which version of Qlikview Server are you using? You may have to enable the document for mobile access (it's on the user documents page on QEMC)

You may need to develop an application especifically for this environment or use the function clientplatform() (only available since QV10) to identify the client and enable/disable some sheets

Then,  posts like this can help you out:

Hi,

As far as I know Qlikview released its software for an old Android version, and currently, it is not possible to find it inside Android Market.

Anyway, you can access qlikview files with mobile phone's java client. It is not as powerful as the aplications for Iphone/Ipad, but it will work.

@Kaushik: Thsnks for your links. I am trying to download it. Do you have any experience with setting up android phone to access QV documents from server?

You can use your browser to access Qlikview on your android. Works perfectly. Try it with the demo site.

@Aushik: Thanks for your support.

@MichielvdG: Can you please give me some heads up on this like how to configure and where to point your URL ? Also, what and all Settings we need to make.

Open your android browser, go to demo.qlik.com with your Android phone/tablet.

Open a application, I suggest TV Finder as a start. (http://demo.qlik.com/QvAJAXZfc/AccessPoint.aspx?open=&id=Demo10%7CTV%20Finder.qvw&client=Ajax)

No configuration needed. It works within the browser.

Enjoy!
