Hello Team,
Please let us know , qlik will support BW 7.5 and BW/4 HANA ?
As there are lot of changes in the application layer ? will qlik support next version of BW (BW/4HANA) ?
EX:
All source system types except ODP, HANA and File System are not supported
Regards
Venkat Veeramlla .
Hi Venkat, the short answer is: Yes, we will continue to support connectivity to SAP.
Our connectors install and run on BW 7.5 and we are currently evaluating BW/4HANA. However, there are no dedicated connectors to the new BW objects such as ODP, CompositeProviders etc. The data is usually available through the SAP SQL Connector, BEx Connector (some limitations on new functionality exist) or any of the other SAP Connectors that we offer. There is also the possibility of exposing the BW objects as HANA view and access them through the ODBC connector. We are continuously improving our connectivity options to SAP and you can expect more dedicated BW 7.5 and BW/4HANA connectivity in the future.

Mats, can you update your answer please?
What is today the recommended way to connect Qlik Sense to SAP BW/4HANA?
Is there anything in the pipeline?
Peter
Hi Peter,
These are the BW4 objects that right now are extractable through the Application Layer (there might be some limitations):
We are currently in the process of developing an updated version of the InfoProvider connector that can extract data from ADSO, CompositeProvider and Open ODS View. After that connector is released the connectivity options will be:
If you prefer to connect to the DB layer you will be using the ODBC connector.
I can’t give you any definitive recommendations on how to extract data, going directly towards the DB will probably make your extractions faster (since you bypass the Application layer) but it will also mean that you will need to maintain authorizations on the DB layer etc.
For more details or specific question please contact your Qlik representative and he or she can help you get in contact with the Product Manager for connectivity and/or the SAP Connectors team at Qlik R&D.

Hi Mats,
We are trying to connect Qlik with a Bex Query BUT, this Bex Query is based on a CDS view, it's not a Bex Query created in the Query Designer tool, it's more like a query artificially created in eclipse. (I think is called transient query)
We are able to see and execute this quey from RSRT, but when we open Qlik and try to connect to that Bex Query is not there, we cannot find the infoprovider in the list or the query name on the list.
So I started to wonder whether this is possible or not to do this, and maybe you can shed some light on this.
Thanks in advance
Dario
