I have a stange situation here. I have a QVD which uses the section access logic to restrict the data users have access to depending on their role. I've deployed this document to the QlikView server and it works fine. I can manually reload the document but I'm failing to get the scheduled reload on the QlikView server to work. I've managed to resolve a number off issues I face during this process but I've hit another brick wall for which no one seems to have discussed previously.
The 1st issue I faced was because I'm using section access, I have to tick the section access tab under Data Protection in the Reload tab of the document properties in the Enterprise Management Console.
The user must be the QlikviewService user and this user must be added as an admin user in the section access login.
The 2nd issue I faced was for my connection provider to the SQL server database was SQL Server Native Client 10.0 OLE DB Provider. For some reason a manual reload would work with this provider but the server seems to be more comfortable with SQLOLEDB.
The document was developed in Version 9.00.7502.8 SR5
The QlikView server is running on Windows Server 2003
The document load log is below. Please bear in mind that the manual client side load takes 15 minutes to complete where as the Server load does not seem to complete. Any ideas?
You are a super star! I followed your advice and it all became crystal clear. When I tried to reload the document logged in as the QlikviewService user in the Qlikview client it failed. It's strangely linked to the connection string as I described in the first post. I thought I had change the connection string but the document has a hidden load tab for the section access with another connection string. Once I sorted that one out, everything worked perfectly.
