Community,
I am experiencing an interesting issue while working within QMC, specifically Documents > Source/User Documents sections.
When I first navigate to the Documents section it takes a while for it to load. Once it loads and within the Source Documents section when I select a task and want to perform an action on it (edit/copy/delete) on the right pane I get Processing..Please wait pop up and the QMC seems to be stuck. My tasks do not open for editing. Refreshing the window brings me back to the beginning.
Any idea what might be causing the issue?
Thanks!
Hi,
Can you share the screenshot of that message?
Check the .Shared files.
When selecting a document I'ts trying to display all server objects. If the Shared file is corrupted or many objects are linked to non existing users it will timeout.
Easy check, move the shared file (backup) and navigate to the document tab. It should perform having no server objects to display.
If you need to restore the .Shared file, check out the Shared File viewer from the Power Tools 1.2 for QlikView
Hi, attached the image
Not sure how this relates to the task setting part within QMC. I can't even create a new task anymore. I get stuck at the Processing... Please wait. screen.
Rather confusing issue as other servers that are running QV are not exhibiting such issue.
Please create a screenshot of the complete screen, then we can see the menu path you're in.
When using the Sourcedocument section the shared file has no influence. When opening the user document section it does.
You could also try to monitor the file open / write actions of the process qvb.exe using sysinternals procmon.exe. (Microsoft Technet tool)
Be sure to set the filter to Process Name --> is --> qvb.exe
Did you verify whether the QMS Logs contain any messages relating to this slow-down? Failing communications with other services may be the cause...
Gents,
thanks for your input. What did it for me was restart of the qlikview management service. I'll keep this post open for a while in case my timeout occurs again. QMS logs did not provide any insight.
