Discussion Board for collaboration related to QlikView Deployment.
I often download example QlikView QVW from the internet and that's very helpful.
I wanted to know how I can share my QVW files on the net also ?
Seems that you need to "remove" the license info before doing that.
Is this the case, what do I need to do to publicly share a QlikView document.
Eric in Montreal.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Only QlikTech can do that for you and add an embedded license to your document so it can be opened with QV Personal Edition.
Only QlikTech can do this ? Really, I'm surprised.
In this case, where do I send it to have this done ? and is there any restrictions to what type
of QlikView document I can "publish" on the internet ?
Let me clear something up I want to distribute the QlikView file, Not publish it in the sense that people can use it on the internet. I mean the source code the actual file that people can download and use.
An example is Downloads - Rob Wunderlich Qlikview Consulting
where you can find a bunch of QVW files, which I think don't have any licensing info in them.
In the end, I would like my QVW to be able to freely open inside a QV Personal Edition
If anybody could do it then companies could give every employee QV Personal Edition (which costs nothing) and let everyone use all their qlikview documents for free. QlikTech would be out of business quite quickly that way.
At this time QlikTech does not offer something similar to Tableau Public. So either you persuade QlikTech to put an embedded license in your document (chances slim to none, unless you have something very special) or you buy Qlikview IAS (quite expensive). Or you share your qvw document with people that have access to a QV Desktop license or a named user cal.
