Is there a way to track who uses the session collaboration feature and who joins the session? I checked the session, event and performance logs, but could not find an entry related to session collaboration.
Since this can be a security risk for company information, there should be a way of tracking it's usage.
if you turn on Audit logging for QVS then you will see entries in the audit log like these:
C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\Documents\Sales Compass.qvw | Session Collaboration | QTSEL\mls | Session Collaboration Initiated, ID:0 |
C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\Documents\Sales Compass.qvw | Session Collaboration | QTSEL\mls | Session Collaboration user Testing123 joined session, ID:0 |
if you turn on Audit logging for QVS then you will see entries in the audit log like these:
C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\Documents\Sales Compass.qvw | Session Collaboration | QTSEL\mls | Session Collaboration Initiated, ID:0 |
C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\Documents\Sales Compass.qvw | Session Collaboration | QTSEL\mls | Session Collaboration user Testing123 joined session, ID:0 |
Hi Marian,
If this is a security risk, why not turn it off?
The setting is found under QVS settings within the QMC, Documents.

Erik
Hi Erik,
They would like to use this feature, but be able to have some control over how it is used. They don't want employees sharing the information inappropriately.
To clarify - yes it is possible to track who uses collaboration. In the audit log example above, the domain\username of the person who initiates sharing of the session is presented on each line.
You can also see who joins the session, "Testing123" in this case, The joining username is entered manually by the user who joins the session and is not validated.
