Exporting to Excel in AJAX

in AJAX, exporting a chart to Excel, after export and closing Excel, the Qlikview Excel Export window remains open and needs to be manually closed.  Any way around this?

Hello,

Qlikview version: 11.00.11282 SR1

Windows 7

IE9

Other browsers are worse. Safari and chrome just hang. They never even export the data. Same thing happens using the print button.

Hi,

This is for the first time you get this issue or it just came in?

Did you try to access the same with some other machine?

This is very old version, I would suggest you to upgrade to latest version of Qlik 11.2 SR6.

Even upgrade to latest version of IE, Chrome or firefox.

Regards

I work with Rich, and am currently testing the newest version of QV (qv11.20 SR6) and can reproduce much of the same behavior as he's describing.  I can't seem to find on the forum if this is normal behavior.

I have been testing this on Chrome.  If I click on the print or export to excel button in a title bar of a chart, it greys out the current QVW document I have open with a QlikView screen that states "Printing object..." or "Exporting...".  In the case of printing, I see another screen that pops up and displays what I am printing, but when I return to the original browser window, it appears that it is still processing the printing request.  I have to click on the "Cancel" button in order for the screen to clear and re-access the QVW document.

The export to Excel looks even worse on Chrome.  I get the "Exporting..." screen, then get a blank screen, which in the lower left corner has something about downloading.  if I click on that, THEN I can see the excel spreadsheet.  Once again, if I return to the original browser window, it appears like it is still actively processing the request, even though I saw the completed excel spreadsheet.  I have to hit the cancel button to return to the original QVW document.

This is all terribly clunky.  Is this how it works for everyone?  If not, how can we fix that?

Have you reported this issue to Qlik Support by creating a Case? If not, please do that and let's get a final word on the intended/designed behavior. Thanks.

Any results from support?  We are dealing with the same clunky behaviour and are looking for ideas & options... Thanks

I have not.  I upgraded to SR7, because they said they couldn't recreate the problem with that release, but we still have the problem.  I'm awaiting more feedback from QV support.  I've gotten a vague "could be security setup on the browser" but nothing more definitive on how to troubleshoot the issue.
