New to API data integration

Hi,

we use cakemail to send out email campaigns, and the result of these campaigns can be retrieved using cakemail's legacy API services.

The rep gave me an active API key and a link to their developper knowledge base : https://developer.cakemail.com/legacy/

All the getting started examples are for PHP and Curl.

All the examples I see for Qlikview in the forums and community require some xml file which I can't find in the cakemail documentation. In short, I'm out of my league at this point, and wondering if anyone would have a good pointer to getting started for retrieving data using an API key. Or at least a basic Qlikview tutorial to suggest.

Thanks

I'd try the Qlik Rest Connector: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/connectors/Subsystems/REST_connector_help/Content/Connectors_REST/Create...

Perhaps you first should try a tool like Postman or Insomnia first to get started with the cakemail api. When you managed to get results back it shouldn't be too hard to configure the Rest Connector to retrieve data using their api.

thx for the cue!

having a hard time installing the REST connector as I don't see it in the drop down menu in the script editor, and the Qlik download page (https://us-b.demo.qlik.com/download/) does not load at all for me 😕

I managed to download Postman, but that's a whole other learning curve right there. Not sure where to start with that software.

I suspect the download issue may have been related to some DNS issues we had, shout back if you still cannot get to it at this point.  All you should need to do if things keep giving you a problem, try changing the 'b' to a 'd' in your URL, as I believe that should do the trick.  Sorry for the trouble on that one!

Brett
