Open qvw in server using Qlik Desktop 'Open in server'

Hello, I am trying to access a Qvw file in Qlikview Desktop within the Server. I am able to connect to the server qvp://servername but there are no documents showing up in the list. All my Qvw's are present under D:\Qlikview\Documents folder which is the Root folder configured in QMC. I have the QVS set up up in DMS authorization (IIS enabled) as we have implemented Webticket to access qvw's from a thirdparty portal. I have tried all three options(NT Identity, Anonymous, User Identity) presented in Qlik Desktop option 'Open in Server'. However, none seems to be working and not displaying any docs. I would like to get the path qvp://servername/document working. Appreciate any help! Thanks.

You need to mount the folder in the QMC so that the server know where to find the QVWs

I do not have access to a server now and I can't give you a snapshot, but that's where you should look to see.

If you are using DMS, did you authorize those IDs to access any documents? Or if you have a Publisher, did you distribute to those IDs?

Are you using Section Access?

Thanks a lot! It worked. Here are the steps.

  • I mounted the folder in QMC
  • Added a NamedCAL with the same domain Login account am using (QVadmin user)
  • Authorized my qvw document with the NamedCAL account
  • File->Open in Server with NT Identity option.

Yes, we do have section access but not publisher. Authorized the document with a named cal which worked Fine as per the above steps. Thanks.
