Hello everyone,
In an application, I have put an alert which sends me an email after the reload is completed.
It doesn't work anymore when I copy the application on my production server and when my application is reloaded from QMC.
What can I do ?
Any ideas ?
Ok people, I get it.
Actually, the alert only works when the application is opened.
For example, I put an alert "on reload". I reload the application from QMC. And then, only, when I opened the app with qlikview desktop (without reloading), I eventually receive the alert.
How do we get it to work when reloading via qmc?
Hi David,
"Alerts are stored as part of the QlikView
document. Alerts can only be created and triggered from Windows versions of
QlikView (not Ajax Zero Footprint clients)." from QV reference Manual.
I assumed Windows versions of Qlikview = Qlikview Desktop. And that it was not possible to send alert only from QMC.
But I'd be happy if someone could contradict what I am saying
People are saying in many articles that qmc can send alerts from the qvw itself...is that correct?
Well, I haven't found how to do it.. but it doesn't mean that's not possible
Please check in your alert
First that the condition satisfies. Set the condition to 1=1, so that you can check mail works.
Next see that interactive is unselected and batch is selected
On post reload should be checked.
A valid mail id.
lastly a valid mail server should be configured on your QEMC.
Please post if it works.
thanks,
Rajesh Vaswani
Howdy Rajesh, thank you for your response.
I am getting it to work 100% of the time, when i use a /r batch file to reload. Though I cannot get it to work when i reload via QMC.
Any ideas?
Hi,
Can you check the image in this post.
http://qlikcommunity.qliktech.com/thread/128326
It has the settings you must have on the server.
I am assuming that when you do batch reload, its on the QlikView server.
In that case the settings in the QEMC would need check, also if the post reload is firing the alert or not.
thanks,
Rajesh Vaswani
The batch file reload is indeed on our server, and being run by windows task scheduler - as when i do a reload in qmc it is not firing the "onpostreload" action.
Any ideas? I checked the picture, thank you, it looks like my email settings are set correctly.

David,
Have you tried to run the batch with the Qlikview service account ? If it doesn't work, it could be a problem due to authorizations.
I have to say that for me, the batch also worked with the QV service account. I remembered I called Qlikview support. The couldn't tell me exactly what was the problem. But I wasn't using the last minor version so they advised me to upgrade. Plus, they aske me to check with the admin of my machine because it was probably due to my environnement and not to Qlikview itself.
I would advise you to check if running the batch with the QV account works and if so, contact the support.
Please, let me know if you end up finding the solution
