After server migration (switched from one server to another), Jobs/Tasks are not auto triggered on its own schedule time. It triggered sometime and sometime it's not. It takes several click to run when perform manual also.
This issue was never seen on previous server.
Thanks in Advance for solutions.
Make sure the "Automatic refresh of task list" is enabled, just in case the task is running but not displayed as such in the QMC.
Are you using QlikView 12.x or has it been an upgrade from 11.x to 12.x? If so, the Distribution Service is much more resource intensive, and tasks can be queued for some time until those resources are released.
May be these issues:
Tasks are maybe running in background.
In your tasks tab, Make sure Automatic refresh tasks is checked.
Check the log files, also check the Setup and Distribution service options.
Yes, "Automatic refresh of task list" is enabled. I am using 11.x, which is fine in previous server (never had a issue). Now we moved to different server, the issue now is; the scheduled jobs run sometime and sometime not.
I have done all the option you mentioned. Still same issue. Let me know if you have solutions. TIA.
Is the same version of Windows, is the UAC disabled and the rest of the requirements for security? Is the server going down even for few seconds and then starting up again?
Yes all same.
Check the Windows Event Viewer to see which activity could be causing that the server is going down.
Below is the error that was displayed:
An unexpected exception occured in DormantTaskDictionaryThread. Exception=System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at QDSMain.Dormant Task.Process Dormant Tasks()
Any Idea, whats really issue is and how to fix?
TIA !!!
Are you using EDX to trigger the tasks? Also, did you modify that tasks in particular while they were running? That error sometimes appears if a task is modified while running
