Best Practice multiple Language

we have a Database behind our Qlik-Dashbaords. All descriptions for a key exists in englisch and german.

for example:

article-Number    Artikel_bez_de       Artikel_bez_en

1234                    Kochbuch               cooking-book

What's the best practice to make an application multilingual?

It's very complex to make it for each object with an if-condition.
