Dear All,

I have one main application named as Main_Application now which is again distributed in many application say

Appliction1,

Application2,

Application3.....

Now I need a separate bookmark for each distributed application on access point.

Is this achievable if yes, please advise me how.

As far as my knowledge we cannot create single bookmark to use it for different applications. However a user can share the bookmark to other user who is using the same application.

It is not possible to distribute/copy bookmarks from one application to another application.

Hi Mahamed,

Bookmarks created in a document are tied with the same document using .shared file.

If I understand it correct, Main_Application is also a distributed application and the other Appliction1, Application2, Application3.... are kind of subset of Main_Application.

So, if a user creates a bookmark in Main_Application, those will reside in Main_Application.qvw.shared file.

if you want these bookmarks to be available in all the other documents as well, you should manually copy Main_Application.qvw.shared file and rename it as Appliction1.qvw.shared, Application2.qvw.shared etc.

The catch here is its a one time activity.

Once you copy and replace the shared file to the other distributed documents, all the existing bookmarks will be lost.

New bookmarks created in Main_Application.qvw are not automatically transferable.

Just want to get more close to this scenario diagrammatically, hope it will help.

                                                           Main Application

                                                     .......... .....> Reduced and distributed on server using field to following Apps

App1     App2    App3    App4 .........................................................................Appn

and i need there should be separate bookmark for each app..like

App1 - Bookmark1

App2 - Bookmark2

App3-  Bookmark3

.

.

.Appn-Bookmarkn

Appreciate for your advise.

My scenario is not like if Main application has few bookmarks and tht should not be displayed in sub app.

I am already having few bookmarks in main and those are reflecting in sub app. and tht should be remain too.

What I need is Other than main application bookmarks the sub app should have there own separate bookmark too.

Sorry... I don't think I got you clearly.

You mean the bookmarks should be created by Qlik automatically?

Or the bookmarks to be transferred to all the distributed documents once the user creates a bookmark in one document?
