Charts and conditional expressions

Please help.

as per the attached,

Fig(1) Shows the result (which is what I want to see) when I
make selections. However, if I unselect any of the selections, then my ‘Total
Matches’ and ‘Total Discrepancies’ values go to zero (fig(2)).

How do I get around this?
