If it is an embedded picture it won't work unless you copied it as picture. But if you want only show some status in the shape from colored circles/arrows ... you could use chars like chr(9678) or chr(9650) or similar.
You would have to 'copy as image' and then paste in Excel manually. You can write a macro to export to Excel and paste as picture as well. I might have an example. Will post.
