Dear Qlik,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek assistance regarding an issue I am encountering with QlikView Desktop.
Whenever I attempt to open a qv file, I encounter the following message:
This QlikView document was created by another QlikView Personal Edition user. Since you are using QlikView Personal User Edition, you can only open files created by you. You can recover the file if it was created on a different computer, but doing so will use up one of your remaining 4 recovery attempts.
However, if you recover the files, you will no longer be able to open files created with the current user key.
Would you like to continue recovering your files?
I am unsure about the reason behind this message appearing. Despite the QlikView Server's license not being expired, I am left wondering whether there is a separate process required for license renewal. Regrettably, I am unable to identify the root cause of this problem, leaving me uncertain about the steps to take for resolution.
If you possess any insights or information that could shed light on this situation, your guidance would be greatly appreciated. I eagerly await the advice from seasoned Qlik experts.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Thanks & Regards.
QlikView Desktop must have lost the license, since the license is still valid.
Try to just put in the license and control number again. I am attaching an article that explains the licensing in QlikView desktop.
If a QV Desktop license lease is not renewed after 30 days, it will revert to Personal Edition, so I agree with @Maria_Halley in that the QV Desktop installation lost it's license allocation. In addition to the article she provided, you may also find Qlik Support KB article Troubleshooting QlikView License Lease Issues helpful. Ping back if you have further questions.
