does anything like a "qlikview license optimizer report" already exist? I am looking for a tool that calculates the best license model for a qlikview server for a specific environment.
The model calculation of course should depend on figures such as:
- Number of users and number of reports
- Session evaluation (offer USER cal vs SESSION cal licenses)
- Report usage evaluation (offer USER cal vs DOCUMENT cal licenses)
etc.
I think that with a proper license strategy, license costs could be improved drammatically for a specific environment.
I have myself extended the QV Server Performance Report (QV 11, SR1) with a new tab "licenses". It shows type of licences that have been used, number of documents and red/orange marked users for which licence should be checked on the server.
- red marked users: Have both a USER cal + a DOCUMENT cal
- orange marked users: Have both a USER cal but use 1 document only (DOCUMENT cal could be better).
You will have to run the report first as it comes with empty data.
