Month Name

Hi!

in my excel file i've date in format yyyymmdd. I want to create the variable month with month name...

Now i use :

LOAD *,

     MID([Date],5,2) AS Month

FROM

C:\Folder\DB.xlsx

(ooxml, embedded labels);

to catch the 2 numbers of month.

How can i conect the month name?

i use :

LOAD *,

    Month( MID([Date],5,2)) AS Month

FROM

C:\Folder\DB.xlsx

(ooxml, embedded labels);

but all is consider as january...

Hi Marco,

QV will return the first 3 characters of a month, ex: Jan.

If you want to see the complete month name you can create an mapping table with 2 columns like Jan January and using the applymap function you can implement it.

month(date(Date,'YYYYMMDD')) as Month

from ...
