Month number

Hi everybody,

I have to determinate the date of the creation of companies. So In my DataBases, i have a table with the name of the company and the month number since the creation. The table is updated at october 1st 2014. So for exemple, if we have 40 months, that's mean 40 months before october.

To find the date creation, I want to convert the date format 20141001, to the number of month like we could find for the day ('4000') and substract the number of month until october.

That is possible? Could anyone Help me?

addmonths(date#('20141001','YYYYMMDD'),-40) will return the date that's 40 months earlier than october 1st 2014.
