Qlikview QMC

Hi,

I've recently installed Qlikview Server 12 however whenever I try to access the QMC it asks for my windows login credentials, I've never known this to be the case before, is there a reason for this? Also, others who are part of the Qlikview Admin group on the server can't access the QMC, why would this be?

Thanks

Kev

Hi!
Might this depends on the browser you are using?
For instance, in Firefox, Windows Integrated Authentication is disabled by default and you need to enable it.

In Microsoft Edge, Windows Integrated Authentication is off by design.

As for the other users, it depends on the error they are getting.

In your case, there might be something blocking IE from using NTLM. You might want to try to add the QMC site to the local intranet ones or the trusted ones, and see if there's any change.
And what happens if you use, for instance, Chrome?
In general, QlikView fully delegates this process to the browser/OS environment, so you should investigate things on that side. It is not an issue with QlikView.

As for the other users, I'd say something might be locking the connectivity from the client to the QMC on port 4780. Is there any proxy or firewall in the middle?

Hi,

If you are using an URL that has a dot in it, you will need to make sure that URL is in your trusted sites.  So, http://localhost:4780/qmc/default.htm will work (if you are on the local server) , but http://servername.domain.local:4780/qmc/default.htm will cause the login prompt to come up.

The admin group in the server where the QMC is installed has the name as it appears in the attached image? Another thing that can happen is that when entering the windows credentials you have made a typing error. It happened to me once. Try to force them to ask again, to rule out this possible error. Luck!!
