System Table Inquiry

Currently i'm trying to create an interface for my team that shows the system tables for a few apps.  Now the system table generated automatically is halfway what we want, however, we were also hoping to include the qvd/txt/excel file that the fields are getting pulled from and/or possibly the qvd's the get created by each app.  My question is this:

Is there a way to possibly set a variable, or is there a something already created such as $Field or $Table, that basically is a list of all the file names used to create the qvd?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!

I've recently started investigating using Tags for this but haven't got very far yet.  Up to now I have manually updated a spreadsheet of all fields and tables (from $Field and $Table) and added the field "Source".  Loaded this in as a data island as used it that way.

Hope this helps,

Jason

You can load the soure linage data from the qvw itself. See the Meta Model group http://community.qlik.com/groups/meta-model-qv-power-tool

for more info.

There is a metadata scanner utility somewhere on the community site.  I wonder if this has the info you need.

Here it is: http://community.qlik.com/docs/DOC-1783
